Frequently asked questions
What does the free checker actually do?
It opens your URL once in a real headless Chrome browser (like a visitor would), waits for it to load, and reports the HTTP status, uncaught JavaScript errors, console errors, failed network requests (scripts, APIs, images) and whether the page rendered blank. You get a screenshot and a copy-paste prompt you can give your AI coding tool to fix what it found.
Can it test a whole flow like sign-up or checkout?
The free checker can try one short step, like clicking a button and checking some text appears. Typing into forms needs you to tick 'I own this site'. The paid plans (coming soon) re-run full multi-step flows on a schedule and alert you when one breaks.
Who is FlowCanary for?
People who build and ship apps with AI tools such as Lovable, Bolt, Cursor, Replit, v0 or Claude Code, and who find out something broke only when a user complains. No testing knowledge needed: you describe flows in plain English.
How is this different from an uptime monitor?
Uptime monitors check that your server answers. Your server can answer perfectly while the page is blank, the sign-up button does nothing or the Stripe call fails. FlowCanary uses a real browser to check the things users actually do.
Is it safe to point it at my site?
Yes. The checker only visits the public URL you give it, doesn't submit payments, and only fills in forms when you confirm you own the site. It identifies itself as 'FlowCanaryChecker' in its user agent.
Why only 3 checks a day?
Each check runs a real browser, which costs us money. Three a day keeps the free tool free. Scheduled monitoring is part of the paid plans.
When does the paid product launch, and what does it cost?
We're building it now and launch by 30 November 2026. Free: 1 flow daily. Starter: $15/month for 3 flows checked hourly. Pro: $39/month for 10 flows every 30 minutes. Founding members can reserve now by paying the first month up front; the plan starts at launch, and if we don't launch by 30 November 2026 you get a full refund. Or join the free waitlist to hear when we go live.
What do you do with my data?
We store your waitlist email and plan choice to contact you about FlowCanary. Check results aren't stored after we send them to your browser. See the privacy notice for details and your rights under UK GDPR.
